2008 Saint Paul Star of the North Games, presented by Toyota

Entry Information

New for 2008:
- High-school team registration only. No more individual registration.
- Working with the US Lacrosse Referee Development Program
- Open to players who played varsity or JV high school lacrosse in the spring of 2008.
Competition Format:
- NEW for 2008: This is event is now being held as a high-school team tournament. Team registration only. Teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If enough teams of appropriate divisions register, teams will be separated into JV and Varsity levels at the discretion of the tournament staff. Registration will be limited by field capacity. Registration may close before the deadline. Register early to assure your place in the tournament.
- All teams will be scheduled to play four games, two each day. All teams run the chance of playing games back-to-back.
Eligibility:
- This tournament is open to players who played varsity or JV high school lacrosse in the spring of 2008 season.
- (If there is enough interest for teams younger than entering 10th grade, a new division will be set up specifically to those teams. Minimum of four teams required. Please call lacrosse sport commissioner to inquire.)
Rules:
- Minnesota State High School League and NFHS rules will govern play, with rule modifications at the discretion of the tournament staff. Ten minute stop time will be used for all games.
Registration Instructions:
- Teams must register as teams. Coaches or managers may register teams however players will not be accepted as individuals. Please note team name on the registration form.
- Teams are responsible for their own jerseys, lodging, and food during the tournament.
Venue:
- The Star of the North boys’ lacrosse tournament will be played at the McMurray Athletic Fields, 1155 Jessamine Avenue West, off of Lexington Avenue bordered by Jessamine to the south, and Como to the north, in the Como Park neighborhood of Saint Paul. Additional fields will be scheduled as needed.
Awards:
- Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each division.
Refund Policy:
- In the case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete the tournament in its entirety. Fees are non-refundable if the tournament is canceled, shortened, or otherwise modified in any way due to inclement weather.
