2008 Athlete's Letter
Welcome to the 2008 Star of the North Games Figure Skating Competition

Competition Arena
All competition sessions will be at the Pleasant Arena, 848 Pleasant Ave., St. Paul MN 55102 The official host club is the St. Paul Figure Skating Club.

Registration and check-in
Athlete Check-In will be Thursday, June 26, 5 - 8 p.m.; Friday, June 27, 2 – 8 p.m.; Saturday, June 28, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Check-in will be located at the SOTN Registration Headquarters at the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center. All athletes will need to check in at Star of the North headquarters at the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center to pick up their athlete credential prior to arriving at Pleasant Arena.
Driving Directions to Headquarters
From I-94 take the Lexington Pkwy exit (Exit #239).
Westbound: Turn left on Lexington Pkwy, cross over I-94, then immediately left on Concordia Ave, then immediately right on Oxford St, then immediately right on Iglehart Ave.
Eastbound: Do not turn on Lexington Pkwy. Drive across Lexington on Concordia Ave. Take the next right on Oxford St, then turn right on Iglehart Ave, into the parking lot.
It is about a five-minute drive from the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center to Pleasant Arena. Directions and a map will be available at headquarters.

Practice Ice
The following practice ice will be available at Pleasant Arena. The cost per session is $9
Friday June 27th:
5:30-6:00 pm Beginner/Pre Pre/Pre
6:00-6:30 pm PJ & UP
Saturday June 28th:
8:00-8:20 am Beginner/Pre Pre/Pre
8:20-8:40 am PJ & UP
8:40-9:00 am PJ & UP
Note: Additional practice ice is available at Pleasant Arena on Friday on St. Paul FSC sessions as follows:
3:10-4:10 pm All levels - $16
4:10-5:00 pm All levels - $14

Practice ice is available on a first come first serve basis. Payment must accompany ice reservation.
Music Check-in
CD’s will be checked in at the Registration Desk at the Pleasant Arena NOT at Headquarters. Please include the jacket with your CD.
Ticket Sales
Each athlete will receive a pass for free admission. All others are asked to purchase a $7 Star of the North Games all-events pass. This ticket entitles the holder to admission to all Star of the North Games sports throughout the Games. Proceeds from the sales support the Star of the North Games and the St. Paul Figure Skating Club, the host club for this year’s figure skating competition. Revenue from the all-events pass sales provides an important part of funding of the Star of the North Games, supports figure skating programs and helps to keep our fees at a reasonable level. Please cooperate with the ticket sales staff at the ice arena.
Results
Figure skating results will be posted on the Star of the North website after the conclusion of the competition: http://www.starofthenorthgames.org/. Results will also be posted at the rink following each event.
Awards
The Award Ceremony and photos will be held in the lobby following the official posting of results. Awards will be presented to skaters placing 1-3. Ribbons will be awarded to skaters placing 4-6. Remember to wear your skates and guards for the photos.
All medalists will earn an invitation to the 2009 State Games of America National Championships at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.
