Entry Information

Entry Fee
- Entry fee includes event fee and bowling center fee for up to two events (Handicap or Scratch). Each participant needs a verified average and a sanction card to be brought to the event. If you are not sanctioned, you can become sanctioned on-site for $15.
- Each contestant will bowl three games with handicap, or no handicap if the individual is entered in the Scratch division.
Competition Format
- Top three bowlers in each division will qualify to compete in a step-ladder final, with gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded following the competition. In the event of a tie for any medal position, a ninth and tenth frame competition will be held plus 20% of the one game handicap. Participants will be assigned three to a lane. This is subject to change depending on the number of registrations. Decisions of the sport director shall be final. The Sport Director reserves the right to cancel or combine divisions.
Eligibility
- All bowlers must be a resident of Minnesota. Each bowler must submit a signed copy of their handicap from either the League Secretary or Associate League Secretary.
Rules
- Competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of the U.S. Bowling Council (USBC) unless otherwise noted. Should a bowler be eligible to compete and win a finals spot, he/she will advance and compete in only one Handicap and/ or Scratch division.
- It is the responsibility of the bowler to make sure his/her own average is correct. Averages used will be the bowler’s current year highest average (21 games minimum) as of the Center Qualifying date. If an individual is not bowling in 2007-2008, the previous year’s (2006-2007) highest average will be used (21 games minimum). If an individual did not bowl or is not bowling in either 2006-2007 or 2007-2008, they will be required to compete in the Scratch division.
- Handicap will be 90% of 210 in all competitions.

  All participants must check in at Star of the North headquarters at the Jimmy Lee Recreation Center prior to arriving at Midway Pro Bowl. Driving directions to headquarters: http://www.starofthenorthgames.org/hq.shtml. It is only a five-minute drive from headquarters to the Midway Pro Bowl.
  
  Driving directions from HQ: Go north on Lexington Ave. from I-94. Turn left at University. The Midway Pro Bowl is six blocks ahead in the Midway Shopping Center.
Schedule
- All bowlers should call the sport director June 15 to receive their schedule: If possible, all contestants within a division will bowl at the same time. There will be a check in table at Midway Pro Bowl. The check in table will let the Sports Director and volunteers know that you have arrived for your shift and to let you know what lanes you are assigned to. Shift times are 4:00pm and 6:30pm.
Awards
- Star of the North Games medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
