Volleyball registration update, as of May 17, 2013:

When we reach the late stages of registration (now), we attempt to get to even groups of four teams in each division (16, 20, 24, etc.) So when we reach a multiple of four we put a “soft hold” on registration. That means we continue to accept registrations, but those additional teams will be accepted only if we get four additional registrations, to bring in a full group of four. If you are one of those teams on the waiting list, and you are not ultimately accepted, we will promptly refund your fees.

  • 12’s: We have 13. Accepting 3 more teams, then we will start a waiting list.
  • 14AB: We have 16. Soft hold in place. We can accept a full group of four.
  • 14C: We have 16. Soft hold in place. We can accept a full group of four.
  • 16AB: We have 12. Soft hold in place. We can accept a full group of four more teams in either 16AB and/or 16C.
  • 16C: We have 12. Soft hold in place. We can accept a full group of four more teams in either 16AB and/or 16C.

If both 16AB and 16C increase to 16, we will separate those divisions. If not, they will be combined.

    • 18AB: We have 21. Accepting 3 more teams, then we will start a waiting list.
    • 18C: We have 17. Accepting 3 more teams, then we will start a waiting list.

    Competition Format
Festival format.  Round-robin pool-play Saturday to determine seeding into multi-level playoffs on Sunday.  All teams will be seeded into Sunday’s playoffs.

We will be offering “A/B” (combined) and “C” divisions for the 14’s, 16’s and 18’s.  Please register your team for the most appropriate division, with the “A/B” division being the most competitive division.  Returning teams:  Please use your experience in ‘10 Star of the North Games as a guideline for the best division for your team.  Teams that qualified for the “gold” playoffs should consider moving up a division.  Teams qualifying for the lowest playoff division should consider moving down.
