Figure Skating

We regret to announce that both the USFS and ISI figure skating events at the 2014 Star of the North Games will be cancelled.

Details on qualifying for the figure skating event at the 2015 State Games of America in Lincoln, Neb.:

Unfortunately, the ISI skating competition has been cancelled for 2014. We expect the Star of the North ISI competition will return in 2015, so we are leaving the competition information below, so you can see what the 2015 event will look like.

For ISI skaters: We have arranged to partner with the National Sports Center Skating School to designate the Frosty Blades competition, February 6-8, 2015, as an official State Games of America ISI qualifying competition. Skaters who win a medal at Frosty Blades will earn an invitation to SGA in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 29-August 2, 2015.

For USFS skaters: We have arranged to partner with the Northern Blades NSC Figure Skating Club to designate the Northern Blades Rising Stars Competition on October 26, 2014, as an official State Games of America qualifying competition. Skaters who win a medal at the Rising Stars Competition will earn an invitation to SGA in Lincoln, Nebraska, July 29-August 2, 2015.

Both the the Rising Stars Competition and the Frosty Blades event will be held at the Schwan Super Rink on the campus of the National Sports Center in Blaine.

The State Games of America format will be a hybrid between U.S. Figure Skating and ISI. Event descriptions will be posted on the SGA figure skating page.
